I must say I was surprised to read how many people didn't like even the idea of podcasts. I never really explored the medium but was thrilled once I did. I am an auditory learner. To the extreme in many ways. I really see a great usefullness in podcasting, but i guess visual people would miss the visual stimuli.
I cannot begin to express how thrilled I was to find Bill Maher for FREE! I have felt like I was deprived because I couldn't watch his show. I have no other reaon for HBO, so this is the solution to my problem!
My only fear here is that I do not have a particularly good "radio" voice. Its kinda of tinny and I wish I could get someone to do a deep baritone voiceover for me. I wonder if creating their own podcast would make any of the people who don't like them warm up to the idea?
I guess we will see...I hope so!

I don't have a radio voice either. I wouldn't mind Morgan Freeman narrating my life. His voice is great. I'm looking forward to hearing your pod cast.

Real time is also one of my favorite shows. I think I kind of knew that the show was a podcast as well, but one of the only reasons I have HBO is for the show. Although I like to watch it, I might just listen to the podcast.
ReplyDeleteI too never really explored podcasts. Just maybe once or twice to find interviews that my Uncle was in. I find that the people I know who like podcasts often love the comedic ones more than any other ones.
ReplyDeleteI was also surprised at the number of folks who didn't find any value in podcasts. I often find that I'm doing many things at once, so this is a great way for me to catch up on things (especially on Bill Maher) that I don't otherwise have time to process. It even makes my drive time productive!
ReplyDeleteI also dont have a "radio voice". Podcast's were new to me too and I have also found some good ones.
ReplyDeleteIm a bit late to this party but ..I love podcasts, Particularly enjoy Tony Kornheiser on ESPNRadio. Kind of reminds me of the late night radio I listened to in the 70's, before yelling replaced talking. Im very sure Id enjoy one by you as well .
ReplyDeleteI have a voice for newspapers ;) I used to listen to tapes of OLD radio programs with my Dad. I love anything where people are talking not yelling.
